Brushing up on mixing.

I liked the look of this guy, Bjorgvin, and what he was saying in an ad Facebook and his free video persuaded me to buy his book.

I am aiming to

  • Learn to get organised and simplify my mixing process to create more mixes that sound better in less time
  • Learn practical EQ tips to make all of my instruments fit in your mix
  • Learn to use compression to create punchy and tight mixes
  • Learn to use reverb and delay to add space and depth to my mixes without cluttering up the song and making myself sound like an amateur
  • Learn everything you need to know about saturation to add that secret sauce to my songs that make people take notice of my skills
  • Learn an invaluable process to getting my mix to translate to any speaker or sound system

I already know quite a bit but Logic Pro X is daunting and simple book concentrating the basics and using only five plug-ins to start with sounds ideal at the moment.

The book is

Step By Step Mixing: How to Create Great Mixes Using Only 5 Plug-ins
Paperback – Illustrated, 9 May 2019
by Bjorgvin Benediktsson (Author),  James Wasem (Editor)

I am really quite enjoying it and finding it useful so far. I will add an update here when I have finished it.
